TOUR ITINERARY

The Long Chichen Tour will provide pickup at your resort in Cancun between 5:30 and 6:00am

You will enjoy a boxed breakfast in the van during the little over two hour drive to Chichen Itza. Ideally you would arrive at Chichen Itza around 8:15am, beating all the crowds and most of the heat. The group would be guided by a local certified tour guide. The tour will last about 1.5 to 2 hours.

By 10:40am at the latest, the group will meet at the van, and depart to Balam Kanche caves, which are about a 10 minute drive from Chichen Itza. Balam Kanche lets groups in once an hour on the hour. It is a self guided tour, and most folks are out within half an hour. By 11:40am the group would be traveling to the town of Dzitnup, where Xkeken and Samula cenotes are.

It is about a 20 minute drive between Balam Kanche and Dzintup. The group would first visit Samula cenote, and then Xkeken. You will have an opportunity to swim in both of the cenotes. The group will stay at the cenotes up until 2:00pm, which is when the group would depart to Oasias Familiar restaurant in Valladolid.

Oasis Familiar is not a touristy restaurant. This restaurant is tucked away some residential streets. It is one of the locals favorite restaurants. They serve a large variety of dishes, but what they are known for is their typical Yucatecan dishes. The goal is to be done with lunch by 3:30pm the latest.

After lunch the group would be taken to Ek Balam, which is about 30 minutes from the restaurant. A guide will be with the group from 4pm until 5pm when Ek Balam closes. Ek Balam is a much smaller site, and 1 hour is more than enough time to enjoy the whole site and even climb the main pyramid which is actually taller than them main pyramid at Chichen Itza.

The last stop of the day will be a stroll through Valladolid's Zocalo. The Zocalo is like the mian plaza, or center of downtown. The Cathedral is located here, and in front you have a park. Valladolid is one of the oldest cities in Mexico, and has a very interesting architecture.

Around 6 to 6:30pm, the group would meet back at the van, and head back to Cancun. Folks should be getting back to their resorts between 8 and 8:30pm.

We strongly suggest you read the FAQ section for more details.
